Couples That Live Together, Stay Together.

by | October 15, 2019

Imagine being married to someone for 40, 50, even 60 years and then having to live apart due to changing health needs. You may have seen your parents face this daunting circumstance. This is why we are excited to share that Maple Woods Cottage is now licensed to care for couples in a shared room. This means that couples can come in together and share their room when one or both of them need more care.

We designed the assisted living cottage to enhance community and facilitate relationships in a cozy, home-like environment. Each resident is offered a room with a full bathroom, warm gathering spaces, homemade meals as well as on- and off-site activities.

Eric Gies, Director of Referral Management, has already seen excitement over this new offering. “Telling a couple they can stay together even when they need increased care has been a joy for me. It increases Resthaven’s options and really is another example of our commitment to meeting the needs of our residents.”
