Change, But Not Everything.

REV. LEIGH BOELKINS VAN KEMPEN

“Every good endowment and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (James 1: 17)

Every excellent organization, in order to stay a quality organization, does constant reassessment, constant evaluation, and constant review. Without doing so, the enterprise will falter. As the world changes and as expectations change, the goal is to keep up in order to be certain that what a business provides is what the public wants.

As you read this newsletter, you will find evidence that, in Resthaven’s desire to remain a leader in the community, we listen to people’s desires. We utilize consumer research to fine-tune the care we offer. We respond to families who want their parents to be able to share a room. We encourage the curiosity of our residents by providing unique activities to meet their varied interests. We change, both for the benefit of the residents and families we serve and for the continued health of Resthaven.

But, as we near the 75th anniversary of Resthaven’s founding, you will discover one thing that hasn’t changed. Our reliance is on God as the source of our strength and as the focus of our service. Our mission remains the same: to glorify God while serving others with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.

In a world where newness is celebrated, where change can make what we do better, Resthaven will continue to work to be the best we can be. But one thing will not change. God has no variation or shadow due to change, and Resthaven continues to put our trust in one God, who is our help in ages past and our hope for years to come!
