We are excited to announce that Abby Waldo is the new Administrator of The Warm Friend and Maple Woods. Abby began working at Resthaven in 2018 as the Director of Recreational Therapy. Her leadership has shaped a clinically sound recreational therapy program across the continuum of care that is grounded in research and resident preferences. Abby has also been an integral part of the leadership team at Resthaven including the Leadership Council, the Life Enrichment Team, and the Dementia Team.
Abby is an alumni of Grand Valley State University, is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, and has nearly 10 years’ experience working with older adults. Her background and experience in both clinical programing and in wellness and community life will be a great asset to her new role.
Abby grew up in the Holland area and has always lived in West Michigan. Abby and her husband, Scott, have a daughter Emma who is one, and a dog named Millie.
Abby is excited to get to know all the residents, families and staff at The Warm Friend and Maple Woods. “Each person has an important story to share, and I am happy to be a part of that,” she said.
“I am also excited to continue to learn about Resthaven and all the ways we can serve our residents through different levels of care.” Abby is eager to serve at Resthaven in this new role. “I am thrilled to be able to continue to grow here. I enjoy working at Resthaven because of the people I work with and the residents we serve. I truly believe in Resthaven’s mission and I look forward to continuing to see our mission carried out each day.”
