Patio visits have been a key way to stay connected during the visitor restrictions due to COVID-19 when we are able. These outdoor visits allow space for fellowship while protecting residents from the pandemic.
Resthaven will do all we can to support safe visits and make sure visits can happen within the requirements of government agencies. One requirement is that when a staff member or resident tests positive for COVID-19, we are required to pause visits for two weeks at the residence where the positive case was located.
Other guidance for visiting safely includes that face coverings must be worn throughout the duration of the visit and social distancing must be maintained with no physical touching. Additionally, only two visitors can come per resident and there can not be sharing of food. We are thankful for everyone’s cooperation to make visits safe for all.
With the changing season approaching, Resthaven has acquired tents so that visits can continue outside in a protected environment. These tents will allow us to continue patio visits into the cooler weather.
“Spending time with our loved ones is so important for all of us. We want to do all we can to make sure our residents and their families can see each other as long as possible and as safely as possible while honoring the restrictions in place,” said Deedre Vriesman, President & CEO.
