Volunteer Opportunities There are many opportunities for volunteers at Resthaven. Below is a sampling of the opportunities. This list does not limit the possibilities—create you own! LIFE ENRICHMENT ASSISTANT: Help out with various activities, such as games, Bible study, exercise, or crafts. DRIVER: Using a Resthaven van, transport residents to appointments and outings. ENTERTAINMENT: Do you sing, play the piano or other instrument, dance, or perform magic? Share your special skill with residents! ESCORT: Volunteers are needed to escort residents to appointments or while on outings such as shopping, fishing, or visiting Captain Sundae. Transportation is provided by Resthaven. FRIENDLY VISITOR: Visit with our residents; read, do puzzles, chat, or take a resident outside for a walk. GARDENING: Assist with spring clean-up, planting, regularly weeding, and fall dead-heading. You and your family, church group or friends can also “adopt” a courtyard. MEN’S GROUP LEADER: Meet weekly/every other week with the gentlemen for a time of reminiscing, fellowship, and socialization…just for the guys.
RECEPTIONIST/OFFICE ASSISTANT: Use your office skills to assist with mailings, greeting guests, answering phones, filing and special projects. PAMPERING: The ladies love to get their nails polished! Do nails in a resident room, or on special Pampering Days. SHOPPING: Make purchases for residents in need of groceries, clothing, coats, shoes or supplies. SPECIAL EVENTS: Provide assistance at our special events such as picnics and parties. We would love to help you match your skills and gifts to a need within our community.
